Like so many across the country, my neighborhood in California is plagued by an ice cream truck that can be heard often from blocks away, repeating all day on a schedule usually one day a week.
WARNING: While children may become excited as the tune fades in, many normal adults may experience some degree of psychological trauma. Proceed below at own risk.
This article contains an audio recording taken from my front porch, a sheet music PDF that I transcribed from the recording, a LilyPond source file which is the language I used to write the transcription, and a MIDI performance of the transcription.
The usual software was used to transcribe (Transcribe!) and typeset (Lilypond) this music. Unfortunately, the MIDI generator in Lilypond does not arpeggiate.
Here are some namesake themed pistol shooting targets in PDF format. They work especially well if printed on thicker paper or card stock, which are then attached to target frames at the shooting range using a staple gun or masking tape. There are four files for two paper sizes (8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17) in portrait and landscape orientations.
I generated the PDF files using a C++ program and the Cairo graphics library.
